Arts & Crafts Instructor 2020

Mission: “Camp Monahan, of the Archdiocese of Regina, provides a Christian camping experience for youth ages 6 to 15 with opportunities for social, physical, intellectual, creative, and spiritual growth.”

Camp Monahan is seeking camp counselors, 16 years of age or older as of May 31st, 2020. All staff will be responsible to care for, guide, and mentor children ages 6 to 15 through our summer camps. Programs include swimming, chapel, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, archery, and canoeing. Camps are from July 5th – Aug. 7th. Mandatory training week is June 28th – July 3 rd . Staff are also required to help at camp shutdown days, Aug. 8th & 9 th. All staff will participate in reflection and ongoing evaluation with the Camp Director and board members.

Leadership and Care:

→ Be able to model Christian faith-based values to best ensure holistic care of campers and staff

→ Prior to Camp you must submit a program plan and order materials within a designated budget

→ Provide experiences for campers to learn visual arts skills and develop their imagination

→ Planning and leading of up to five programs per day with children ages 6 - 13

→ Participate fully in all camp activities, and carry out assigned responsibilities with care and diligence

→ Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all

→ Maintain open lines of communication with the Camp Director

→ Attend and participate fully in staff training and daily meetings

Requirements:

→ Respectfully participate in all faith based activities

→ Excellent organizational skills to plan/run an effective, creative, and an integrated arts programs

→ Include various mediums, creative expressions, integrate nature, visual arts, drama, and music

→ Provide a clean vulnerable sector criminal record check

→ Live onsite during course of employment

→ Excellent interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills

A criminal record check and up to date certificates are required of all successful applicants. This person must adhere to Camp policy and be a positive role model at all times.
