Program Coordinator 2020


“Camp Monahan, of the Archdiocese of Regina, provides a Christian camping experience for youth ages 6 to 15 with opportunities for social, physical, intellectual, creative, and spiritual growth.”

Camp Monahan is seeking camp counselors, 16 years of age or older as of May 31st, 2020. All staff will be responsible to care for, guide, and mentor children ages 6 to 15 through our summer camps. Programs include swimming, chapel, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, archery, and canoeing. Camps are from July 5th – Aug. 7th. Mandatory training week is June 28th – July 3 rd . Staff are also required to help at camp shutdown days, Aug. 8th & 9 th. All staff will participate in reflection and ongoing evaluation with the Camp Director and board members.

Leadership and Care:

→ Be able to model Christian faith-based values to best ensure holistic care of campers and staff

→ It is essential for the applicants to have strong leadership and communication skills

→ Participate fully in all camp activities, and carry out assigned responsibilities with care and diligence

→ Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all campers and staff at all times

→ Maintain open lines of communication in regards to day-to-day camp activities with Executive Directors

→ Attend and participate fully in staff training, daily meetings, and weekly reflections


→ Active faith in Jesus Christ, and an openness to sharing and participating in this faith with campers, parents, volunteers, and public

→ Must be enthusiastic, able to motivate and connect with staff, give directions and follow-up with program staff

→ Be able to provide a clean vulnerable sector criminal record check at time of interview

→ Live onsite during prior to training week, summer camps, and clean-up days

→ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.

→ A current First Aid & CPR course are both required

→ Experience teaching or coaching children, or a life guarding certification is considered an asset


→ Proactive and organized in order to foster an efficient day-to-day camp flow

→ Critical thinking in order to problem solve issues that arise day-to-day

→ Be able to work independently, and with a team

→ Follow directions in a timely and professional manner

A criminal record check and up to date certificates are required of all successful applicants. This person must adhere to Camp policy and be a positive role model at all times.
