Chapel & Discovery Director 2020


“Camp Monahan, of the Archdiocese of Regina, provides a Christian camping experience for youth ages 6 to 15 with opportunities for social, physical, intellectual, creative, and spiritual growth.”

Camp Monahan is seeking camp counselors, 16 years of age or older as of May 31st, 2020. All staff will be responsible to care for, guide, and mentor children ages 6 to 15 through our summer camps. Programs include swimming, chapel, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, archery, and canoeing. Camps are from July 5th – Aug. 7th. Mandatory training week is June 28th – July 3 rd . Staff are also required to help at camp shutdown days, Aug. 8th & 9 th. All staff will participate in reflection and ongoing evaluation with the Camp Director and board members.

Leadership and Care:

→ Model Christian faith-based values

→ Prior to Camp you must meet with personnel from the Archdiocese to create a program

→ Facilitate creative experiences to learn Gospel stories/values, develop a deeper respect/love for neighbours and creation

→ Integrate Christian values using prayer, singing, drama, visual arts, and creative writing

→ Participate in camp activities, and carry out assigned responsibilities with care and diligence

→ Maintain a safe and respectful environment for campers at all time

→ Maintain open lines of communication

→ Attend and participates fully in staff training and daily meetings


→ Practicing Catholic and an openness to sharing and participating in this faith with campers

→ Must have a working knowledge of the Catholic faith, liturgy, and prayers

→ Responsible to plan and lead daily chapel in the morning and evening and collaborate with Priest to prepare weekly mass

→ Be able to provide a clean vulnerable sector criminal record check

→ Live onsite during the course of employment

→ Excellent interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills


→ Proactive and organized

→ Critical thinking and problem solving

→ Work independently, and with a team

→ Follow directions in a timely and professional manner

A criminal record check and up to date certificates are required of all successful applicants. This person must adhere to Camp policy and be a positive role model at all times.
