Summer 2020

For the first time in 76 years this past summer the Katepwa Valley did not echo with the sounds of song coming from the shores of Camp Monahan. We missed the campers this summer, it is the reason why we exist and hopefully next season the sound of song will once again call children back to Monahan.

While the shores were quieter this summer they were not completely silent. In place of song there were the sounds of hammers, drills and the voices of our staff and volunteers as they made improvements to the facilities and their skills in preparation for your return.

This summer we focused on the buildings and grounds to complete the Chapel Renovations that started in 2019, dinning hall bathrooms were upgraded, the dinning hall was painted, siding was started on the craft hall, thanks to the generosity of "Our Lady of the Prairie" foundation. Also thanks to the "Adopt a Cabin" program the Van Dusen family adopted the inland cabin and did an amazing job transforming the building from one that was dated and in disrepair to one that any staff or rental would be happy to stay.

Take a look at the photos below to get an idea of the improvements that we made and if you want more detail click on the links provided.
